Bingo Terms to Beat
It is normal for new Bingo players to feel a little bit alienated at first when playing Bingo. So, your first time experience in playing this well-loved game could give you an insight on the things that you should prepare for this game. You have, of course, to familiarize yourself with the rules in playing the game, get to know the Bingo playing cards and how numbers are marked off to form a certain Bingo pattern. But, among the things that you should get to know more are the terms that are used in the game.
If you think you have read all the Bingo terms, you better think twice. There are still some words and phrases that are associated with the game particularly the Bingo numbers. You would not want yourself to be left behind when the Bingo caller makes use of such phrases. So, do not let yourself wonder and start reading the following phrases that are used to describe the Bingo numbers that are randomly drawn by the Bingo caller.
At the Beginning - This term refers to the number one for obvious reasons. The number one is also known as "Kelly's eye" and "Buttered Scone."
Garden Gate - This phrase is used to refer to the number eight. Bingo players attribute the similar ending of the number eight to the ending of this term.
Tony's Den - This term was popularized in Europe as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair lives in #10 Downing Street. It is used to denote the number ten. Others believe that in a few years, "Gordon's Den" would replace this popular term.
Legs Eleven - Resembling much like two skinny legs, the number 11 most of the time gets a whistle from the crowd every time it is drawn by the Bingo caller.
Two Little Ducks - Because of the number's shape, this phrase is used to refer to the number 22.
Buckle my Shoe - This refers to the number 32. Right now, a new term has slowly been recognized to represent the number 32. Others now use "Jimmy Choo" who is a famous shoe designer nowadays.
Clickety Click - When the Bingo caller shouts "Clickety Click," you do not need to panic as this only means the number 66. So, just check that number on your Bingo card.
Two Fat Ladies - Two Fat Ladies is a term that represents the number 88.
Top of the Shop - This term refers to the last number on the Bingo set, which is 90.
